What SnapDash is

SnapDash is a scavenger-hunt game. You find real-world objects and take photos so the app can check them.

Photos stay on your device

Photo checking (on-device machine learning) runs locally on your phone. We do not upload your hunt photos to our servers for gameplay. Temporary photo files used for a find may be stored on-device for the match and are not sent to SnapDash for recognition.

Data we store on your device

Progress, coins, settings, character unlocks, Family Play profiles, and similar game state are saved locally on your device.

iCloud backup

On iPhone and iPad, SnapDash silently mirrors that game progress to your iCloud account (Apple's Key-Value Store) so it survives delete/reinstall and can sync across your Apple devices signed into the same Apple ID. This data goes to Apple under your account — not to SnapDash servers. Using Delete all data in Settings also clears the iCloud backup.

Optional sign-in

Playing as a guest is the default and never requires an account. If you choose to sign in (Sign in with Apple), we store your account identifier and email address with our auth provider (Supabase) so your progress can follow you across devices. You can delete your account and its data from Settings at any time.

Multiplayer / Party

If you use Party invite or live Ranked matchmaking, a short player nickname, avatar/character id, ready state, and match progress events may be sent through our realtime provider (Supabase) so devices can sync a lobby and race. We do not use this channel to transfer your photos.

Purchases

In-app purchases are processed by Apple / Google (and, when enabled, RevenueCat). We receive purchase/entitlement status, not your full payment card details.

Ads

Optional rewarded ads (when enabled) are shown only if you opt in, never to players marked under 13 via the age gate, and never if you bought Remove Ads. Ad networks may collect device advertising identifiers under their own policies.

Children

SnapDash is designed for a broad audience and includes Family Play. The age gate limits ads for under-13 players. Parents can use Family Play and grown-up gates for purchases on a shared device.

Analytics & crash reports

We may collect anonymous gameplay events (e.g. mode started, run depth) to improve the game. Do not expect personal identity (name/email) in analytics payloads. If the app crashes, an anonymous crash report (stack trace, device model, OS version — no personal identity) is sent to our crash-reporting provider (Sentry) so we can fix it.
